Preserving the facts while reconsidering the voices and memory of Columbine

How did Eric really feel?

I will be comparing different statements and sources on this part about the event.

Eric’s mandatory apology letter to Mr. Becker
Excerpt from his journal April 12, 1998: “ Isnt america supposed to be the land of the free? how come, If im free, I cant deprive a stupid fucking dumbshit from his possessions If he leaves then sitting in the front seat of his fucking van out in plain sight and in the middle fucking nowhere on a Fri fucking day night. NATURAL SELECTION. fucker should be shot.”
Eric’s essay about a significant event that changed his life for his economics/government class. November 1998
Sarah Davis, childhood friend and girlfriend, recalling an conversation with Eric about the incident in the book Gunstories: Life-Changing Experiences with Guns” and is by Beth S. Atkin.

Later on they mentioned the January incident, this, as one of the motivators to the massacre. In their young minds, they let this moment define them and dictate the course. For whatever reason they saw this as them being caught and punished as them being pushed away from society.

Eric’s girlfriend broke up with him shortly after the van incident. (Sources will come as I update.)

It’s also speculated that the ketchup incident also happened in January 1998 as well. (Sources will come.)
